Website Terms & Disclaimer
Fireweed Counselling & Healing Arts
Effective Date: June 2026
Welcome to the website of Fireweed Counselling & Healing Arts. By using this website, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.
This website is intended to provide general information about counselling, expressive arts, land-informed healing, workshops, and related services. It is not intended to replace professional counselling, medical care, legal advice, emergency support, or individualized assessment.
1. General Information Only
The information on this website is provided for general educational and informational purposes only.
Nothing on this website should be understood as:
personal counselling advice
mental health diagnosis
medical advice
legal advice
emergency or crisis support
a guarantee of therapeutic outcome
a substitute for assessment by a qualified professional
Every person’s situation is unique. Information that may be helpful for one person may not be appropriate for another.
2. No Therapist Client Relationship Through Website Use
Using this website, reading its content, submitting a contact form, sending an email, booking a consultation, or following the social media accounts connected to this practice does not create a therapist-client relationship.
A therapist-client relationship begins only after:
the practitioner confirms availability and fit
intake information is reviewed
informed consent is completed
service terms are agreed upon
the practitioner formally accepts the client into services
Until that process is complete, no counselling relationship has been established.
3. Not for Crisis or Emergency Support
This website is not monitored 24/7 and is not intended for emergencies or crisis situations.
Do not use this website, email, social media, booking notes, or contact forms if you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency.
If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
If you are in Saskatchewan and need health or mental health guidance, you may contact 811 HealthLine or a local crisis/mobile crisis service. For immediate safety concerns, contact emergency services.
4. Contact Forms and Email
Website contact forms and email are intended for brief administrative communication only, such as:
asking about services
requesting a consultation
booking or changing an appointment
asking general questions about availability
requesting information about workshops or groups
Please do not include detailed personal, medical, trauma, legal, crisis, or mental health information in website forms or regular email.
Electronic communication may carry privacy risks, including accidental misdirection, unauthorized access, interception, or visibility on shared devices. Personal health information in Saskatchewan is subject to privacy obligations under HIPA when held by health-system trustees.
5. Confidentiality
Confidentiality is central to counselling services. However, confidentiality applies within the context of an established professional relationship and is explained fully during informed consent.
Information shared through this website before a counselling relationship begins may still be treated respectfully and carefully, but website communication may not offer the same level of privacy or protection as secure clinical communication systems.
Once you become a client, your information is handled in accordance with the practice’s Privacy, Confidentiality & Records Policy, informed consent documents, applicable privacy laws, and professional obligations.
6. Limits of Confidentiality
Once services begin, confidentiality has legal and ethical limits.
Information may need to be disclosed without consent in situations involving:
serious, imminent, or foreseeable risk of harm
child protection concerns
abuse, neglect, or safety concerns where reporting is required
court order, subpoena, warrant, or legal process
professional complaint, audit, investigation, or regulatory process
medical emergency
consultation with supervisors, insurers, lawyers, or professional consultants when necessary
other circumstances required or permitted by law
CASW’s current ethics guidance states that social workers protect confidentiality across service settings and communication methods, while also recognizing that confidentiality has legal and ethical limits.
7. Scope of Services
Services may include counselling, trauma-informed support, grief and loss work, life transition support, expressive arts approaches, land-informed healing, walk-and-talk sessions, workshops, and community offerings.
Services are provided within the practitioner’s professional scope, training, registration, and competence.
Creative, expressive, land-informed, or nature-based practices are not a replacement for medical care, psychiatric care, crisis intervention, or specialized treatment where those services are needed.
Clients may be referred to another provider when their needs fall outside the practitioner’s scope, availability, or area of competence.
8. Expressive Arts and Art Therapy Language
Creative and expressive approaches may be offered as part of counselling services where appropriate and within scope.
If art therapy-specific services are offered as part of training, practicum, supervision, or future credentialing, this will be clearly explained through informed consent.
Website language does not guarantee that every service is art therapy, psychotherapy, medical treatment, or a regulated health service unless specifically stated.
9. Land-Informed and Outdoor Services
Land-informed, walk-and-talk, or outdoor sessions may involve additional risks, including weather, injury, wildlife, uneven terrain, transportation issues, public visibility, and reduced privacy.
Outdoor sessions require additional informed consent and may not be appropriate for every client or every situation.
The practitioner may move a session indoors, online, by phone, or reschedule when weather, privacy, safety, clinical concerns, or accessibility issues arise.
10. Public Spaces and Privacy
Some services may occur in public or semi-public spaces, such as trails, parks, community locations, rented spaces, or workshop settings.
The practice will make reasonable efforts to protect privacy, but complete privacy cannot be guaranteed in public spaces.
Clients should consider whether they are comfortable with the possibility of being seen, recognized, overheard, or interrupted before choosing outdoor, public, or community-based services.
11. Workshops, Groups, and Community Offerings
Workshops, groups, circles, or community-based offerings are not the same as individual counselling unless clearly stated.
Participation in a workshop or group does not automatically create an individual counselling relationship.
Group and workshop spaces involve additional privacy limits because other participants may hear or see personal sharing. Participants are asked to respect confidentiality, but the practitioner cannot guarantee that other participants will maintain privacy.
Additional consent, participation agreements, and group guidelines may apply.
12. No Guarantee of Outcomes
Counselling and healing work are personal processes. While services are offered with care, professionalism, and respect, no specific result or outcome can be guaranteed.
Progress depends on many factors, including client goals, readiness, life circumstances, safety, support systems, frequency of sessions, therapeutic fit, and the nature of the concern being addressed.
13. External Links
This website may contain links to outside websites, articles, resources, booking systems, payment processors, professional associations, crisis resources, or community services.
External links are provided for convenience and information only.
Fireweed Counselling & Healing Arts is not responsible for the content, accuracy, privacy practices, security, or availability of external websites.

insurance or direct billing options
professional requirements
third-party platform features

The practice may update, remove, or revise website content at any time without notice.
15. Fees, Booking, and Cancellation Information
Fees, payment methods, cancellation policies, and booking procedures may be listed on the website or provided during intake.
Website fee information is for general reference and may be updated.
Clients are responsible for reviewing the current fee and cancellation policy before beginning services.
Insurance, benefits, NIHB, direct billing, or third-party reimbursement cannot be guaranteed unless confirmed in writing.
16. Social Media Disclaimer
Social media connected to this practice is for general information, reflection, education, and community awareness only.
Social media is not counselling, crisis support, supervision, or private communication.
For privacy reasons:
do not send personal clinical information through social media
do not use comments or direct messages for crisis support
the practitioner will not publicly confirm whether someone is a client
following, liking, commenting, or sharing does not create a counselling relationship
social media interaction may carry privacy risks
The practitioner may not respond to social media messages involving clinical or confidential matters.
17. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, website text, images, branding, artwork, resources, handouts, workshop materials, and original content are the property of Fireweed Counselling & Healing Arts or are used with permission.
You may not copy, reproduce, adapt, sell, distribute, or use website content for commercial purposes without written permission.
You may share brief excerpts or links for personal, educational, or referral purposes as long as credit is given and the content is not altered or misrepresented.
18. Cultural Respect and Use of Indigenous Content
Some website content may reflect Indigenous, Métis, land-informed, relational, cultural, or spiritually respectful ways of understanding healing.
This content is shared with care and should not be copied, extracted, commercialized, or used outside its intended context.
Visitors are expected to engage respectfully and not appropriate cultural language, symbols, teachings, stories, or imagery.
19. Client Artwork, Stories, and Testimonials
Client artwork, stories, written reflections, images, or testimonials will not be posted or shared without specific written consent.
Clients are never required to provide testimonials.
Because counselling involves privacy, vulnerability, and power differences, the practice will be cautious about the use of testimonials, reviews, or client stories.
20. Use of Website
You agree not to use this website to:
send threatening, abusive, discriminatory, or harmful messages
submit false or misleading information
attempt to access private systems or records
copy or misuse content
interfere with website operation
use forms for spam, solicitation, harassment, or inappropriate requests
The practice may block, delete, report, or decline communication that is unsafe, abusive, inappropriate, or outside the purpose of the website.
21. Privacy Policy
Use of this website is also governed by the practice’s Website Privacy Policy.
Please review the Privacy Policy to understand how personal information may be collected, used, stored, and protected when using this website.
22. Jurisdiction
This website is operated from Saskatchewan, Canada.
Services are generally intended for individuals located in jurisdictions where the practitioner is legally and professionally permitted to practise.
The practitioner may decline or discontinue services if location, licensing, insurance, risk, privacy, or professional requirements make service provision inappropriate.
23. Changes to These Terms
These Website Terms & Disclaimer may be updated from time to time.
The most current version will be posted on this website with the effective date listed above.
Continued use of this website means you accept the current version of these terms.
